One injured in Crystal Lake fire

CRYSTAL LAKE –  A garage fire at 291 McHenry Avenue brought several fire rescue crews to the scene Thursday afternoon. 

One occupant at the property was treated on scene and transported to Centegra Hospital - Woodstock with minor injuries, according to the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department.

The department responded to the structure fire at 3:02 p.m. A detached garage was fully engulfed in fire.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in 19 minutes.

The fire caused $20,000 in damage to the structure and contents, according to initial estimates.

The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department received mutual aid assistance from other fire and emergency medical crews. Units from Algonquin, Cary, Huntley, Lakewood, Nunda Township, McHenry, East Dundee, Wonder Lake and Fox River Grove provided fire rescue assistance. The Crystal Lake Police department was also on scene. 

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and the investigation is ongoing.
