Man accused of bringing hatchet to McHenry County courthouse charged

WOODSTOCK – A Cary man who allegedly tried to bring a hatchet into the McHenry County courthouse Thursday now faces criminal charges, including several felonies.

Dustin M. Mancill, 23, had been at the courthouse for a scheduled court date on misdemeanor domestic battery charges when a court security officer asked him to remove his coat for screening.

The officer then saw the hatchet, which was tucked into Mancill's pants along the belt line, grabbed it, and took Mancill to the side.
