JOLIET, Ill. (AP) — Authorities and family members say they're shocked by the strangulation and attempted dismemberment of two Will County men, who investigators say were killed by four young adults — three of whom were playing video games when police arrived.
Police Chief Mike Trafton calls the scene inside a Joliet home "one of the most brutal, heinous and upsetting things" he's seen in 27 years of law enforcement.
Authorities say Eric Glover and Terrance Rankins were lured to the home before being robbed and killed.
Four people — ranging in age from 18 to 24 — are charged with first-degree murder in the deaths. They're scheduled to appear in court Monday afternoon.
Rankins' mother, Jamile Kent, calls the killings "demonic." And Glover's fiancee says the crime leaves his daughter without a father.
