LITH delays annual pond hockey tournament

LAKE IN THE HILLS – The Lake in the Hills Parks and Recreation Department has rescheduled its annual Pond Hockey tournament for Feb. 2 in the hope that ice on Woods Creek Lake will reach a depth of at least 8 inches. The tournament was to be Saturday.

All games have two 15-minute (running clock) halves with a two-minute halftime. They start at 8 a.m.

Everyone is encouraged to cheer on their favorite team, then visit tournament sponsor Moretti’s for postgame food and drinks.

The winning team will be honored on the ice during the national anthem at the Feb. 17 Chicago Wolves game.

Officials still are needed for the tournament.

For information, call Trevor at the Parks and Recreation Department at 847-960-7460.
