Pond hockey tournament rescheduled to Feb. 2

To ensure the safety of all participants, the Lake in the Hills Parks and Recreation Department has rescheduled its annual Pond Hockey tournament.

The event, which was scheduled to take place Saturday, has been moved to Feb. 2 in hopes that the ice on Woods Creek Lake will reach a depth of at least 8 inches.

All games have two 15-minute (running clock) halves with a two-minute halftime, starting at 8 a.m.

Everyone is encouraged to cheer on their favorite team, then visit tournament sponsor, Moretti's, for post-game food and drinks.

The winning team will be honored on the ice during the national anthem at the Feb. 17 Chicago Wolves game.

Also, officials are needed for this year’s outdoor hockey tournament.
