Mardi Gras feast to have New Orleans flavor

CRYSTAL LAKE – You do not have to travel to the French Quarter in New Orleans for a fun-filled Mardi Gras with a traditional Cajun feast.

A Mardi Gras Madness dinner is planned from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 12 by McHenry County College’s Continuing Education Department.

The Fat Tuesday dinner will be at 1776 Restaurant, 397 W. Virginia Road in Crystal Lake. It will feature chicken gumbo, salad cascabel vinaigrette, a main course choice of shrimp étouffée or jambalaya and a dessert of dark chocolate and pistachio torte.
