16-year-old boy fatally shot in Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Police in central Illinois are investigating a shooting outside a Bloomington apartment complex that killed a 16-year-old boy.

McLean County Coroner Beth Kimmerling says Kuantrae "Trae" Massey was pronounced dead Monday afternoon in the emergency room at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center.

Police spokesman Dave White says officers responded to a report of a loud argument at the complex and were told that witnesses saw several people carrying a shooting victim to a car, which then sped away.

Kimmerling confirms that Massey was brought to the hospital by relatives in a private vehicle. An autopsy is planned.

Authorities aren't releasing many details about the shooting. There's no word of any arrests.
