McHenry awards $1.1M in contracts to fix public works facility
McHENRY – City officials on Monday night awarded $1.1 million in contracts for a new roof and heating system at McHenry’s public works facility.
Based on the recommendations of architectural consulting firm Studio 222, the City Council awarded the roof replacement to Olsson Roofing Co., of Cherry Valley, for $872,650, and installation of an infrared heating system to F.D.P. of Illinois, of McHenry, for $219,600. The companies were the low bidders for the contracts.
The city bought the public works facility, a former manufacturing plant at 1415 Industrial Drive, for $3.2 million in June 2007. Public works had outgrown its former building at 105 Green St., which now is occupied by the Parks and Recreation Department.
