Manufacturing is an important component of McHenry County’s economy and as the regional economic development entity, McHenry County EDC is offering a unique opportunity for our manufacturers to help grow their companies – think "speed dating" for manufacturers.
Our Manufacturing Matchmaking event will be held Thursday, April 11, at the Crystal Lake Holiday Inn and will provide participating companies with up to seven face-to-face meetings with other companies and organizations. This is the fourth matchmaking event, returning after a two-year hiatus.
McHenry County’s industry base is diverse and is the largest primary employment sector in our county. It includes manufacturers in plastics, machining, metal fabrication, medical supplies, packaging, electrical and electronic assembly, among others. The focus of our matchmaking event will be to promote and match companies from McHenry County’s manufacturing base of over 600 companies to buyers during 15-minute appointments. Prominent companies in the Chicago, Rockford and Milwaukee metro areas are being actively recruited to participate as buyers since McHenry County manufacturers are ideally situated between these cities and can provide the quality and delivery demanded by world-class companies.
The event is free for manufacturers thanks to our corporate sponsor Castle Bank, and our breakfast sponsor InSync Systems Inc. Companies can register online at www.mchenrycountyedc.com/event-calendar/matchmaking. Deadline to register is Feb. 14.
Prior to the event, a list and descriptions of all registered companies will be sent to all registrants. Companies can request up to 10 meetings with an additional opportunity for several open matches. A final schedule for each company will be provided on the day of the event.
Check-in for the April 11 event begins at 7:30 a.m. with a continental breakfast served during registration and the first hour of appointments. Face-to-face scheduled meetings will run between 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., 15 minutes per meeting with five minutes in between. This will allow for further discussions between companies if there is a fit, a chance to check voice and email, or an opportunity to grab a bite to eat.
The meeting rooms will be available for another hour after the event for open matches and informal networking.
We encourage manufacturers to take advantage of this opportunity. For more details about the event, contact McHenry County EDC, Jean Schober at 815-893-0895 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
