Cumpata: EDC hosts Manufacturing Matchmaking event
Manufacturing is an important component of McHenry County’s economy and as the regional economic development entity, McHenry County EDC is offering a unique opportunity for our manufacturers to help grow their companies – think "speed dating" for manufacturers.
Our Manufacturing Matchmaking event will be held Thursday, April 11, at the Crystal Lake Holiday Inn and will provide participating companies with up to seven face-to-face meetings with other companies and organizations. This is the fourth matchmaking event, returning after a two-year hiatus.
McHenry County’s industry base is diverse and is the largest primary employment sector in our county. It includes manufacturers in plastics, machining, metal fabrication, medical supplies, packaging, electrical and electronic assembly, among others. The focus of our matchmaking event will be to promote and match companies from McHenry County’s manufacturing base of over 600 companies to buyers during 15-minute appointments. Prominent companies in the Chicago, Rockford and Milwaukee metro areas are being actively recruited to participate as buyers since McHenry County manufacturers are ideally situated between these cities and can provide the quality and delivery demanded by world-class companies.
