District 158 will welcome new parents and students for the coming school year during the district's kindergarten registration, beginning Feb. 12.
The three-day registration lasts from Tuesday, Feb. 12 through Thursday, Feb. 14 at the district's administration office, 650 Academic Drive, Algonquin.
Parents with last names A through H can register from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Feb. 12. Parents with last names I through P can sign up during the same times on Feb. 13, and parents with last names Q through Z can register from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 14.
The rising kindergartners are required to attend and take their photo for a school identification card. Parents unable to attend can stop by the administration office from Feb. 25 through April 1 to register.
Registration requirements include:
• Child must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2013
• Official birth certificate from the county office in which the child was born
• Proof of residency within District 158 (house closing statement, real estate tax bill, or lease agreement, utility bill for renters)
• Two emergency contacts
• Proof of guardianship
