Fugitive wanted on sex assault charges found
WOODSTOCK – A man on the McHenry County Sheriff's Office Top Ten Fugitive List since November has been arrested in Madison, Wis.
Ivan G. Hernandez-Gonzalez, 23, was wanted for charges including criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual abuse, violation of an order of protection, domestic battery, interfering with the reporting of domestic violence, theft, and leaving the scene of an accident.
An arrest warrant for Hernandez-Gonzalez was issued on Feb. 29, 2012, on allegations that he sexually assaulted a juvenile female. The sheriff's office and Crystal Lake Police Department were unable to locate him and he was considered a fugitive.
In the meantime, two other McHenry County arrest warrants were issued.
Looking for assistance from the public, the department added Hernandez-Gonzalez to the Top Ten Fugitive List on Nov. 6.
On Monday, the sheriff's office received information that Hernandez-Gonzalez was living in Indiana or Wisconsin. They were able to locate him in Madison on Wednesday, taking him into custody without incident.
He was transported to the Dane County (Wis.) Jail, where he is awaiting extradition.
