WOODSTOCK – A 32-year-old woman was under the influence of alcohol when she collided with a semi Tuesday in an unincorporated area near Hebron, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.

Amber S. Nelson, of Hebron, has been charged with driving under the influence and received other traffic citations following the incident on Route 47, south of State Line Road.

The semi was traveling south on Route 47 when Nelson’s vehicle, which was traveling in the opposite direction, swerved into oncoming traffic, according to a news release. The driver attempted to swerve out of the way, but was unsuccessful.
