Woman pleads guilty in DUI accident that killed Marengo man

An Aurora woman was sentenced to seven years in prison for her role in a 2009 accident that killed a Marengo man.

Linda L. Knotts, 48, of the 200 block of East Galena Boulevard, Aurora, pleaded guilty Thursday in Kane County to aggravated driving under the influence, a Class 2 felony.

Knotts was trying to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone on Route 47 near Merrill Road, north of Sugar Grove, when she hit the car driven by William McKenzie, 54, of Marengo, according to previous coverage and a news release from the Kane County State's Attorney Office.
