Disbarred Chicago attorney indicted

CHICAGO — A disbarred Chicago attorney has been indicted on a charge of failing to surrender to authorities to begin serving a prison sentence.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Chicago says 61-year-old Steven J. Della Rose surrendered to authorities last month in in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and was subsequently indicted Wednesday by a federal grand jury. His surrender came more than six years after he disappeared.

In a news release, the U.S. Attorney's Office says Della Rose, a resident of Chicago at the time, was convicted in 2003 of defrauding a client out of $64,000 in a worker's compensation case in 2003 and sentenced to 41 months in prison.
