MARENGO – Damon Cloe earned his 100th wrestling win Thursday for Marengo in the Indians’ 44-30 nonconference victory over Woodstock North.
Cloe recorded a 43-second fall in his 152-pound match. Alex Knaak (138), Kyle Gara (160), and Justin Dauphin (182) also had pins for Marengo. Corey Graham (113) and Tim Richards (170) had major decisions for the Indians.
Travis Busch (145) and Nate Martinez (285) had falls for the Thunder.
Harvard Triangular: At Harvard, the host Hornets defeated Richmond-Burton, 54-20, and Genoa-Kingston, 80-minus 1, in two Big Northern Conference wins. Anthony Luis (106), Mark Struck (113), Irvin Pena (126), Travis Heck (152/160), Zack Martin (195) and Adam Freimund (285) each had a win and a forfeit in two matches for the Hornets (23-3).
The Rockets defeated Genoa-Kingston, 36-12. Grant Sutton (120), Cameron Kennedy (138), Garrett Sutton (152) and Vince Battaglia (220/285) went 2-0 on the day for the Rockets, with Garrett Sutton recording two pins, both in less than two minutes.
North Boone 52, Richmond-Burton 43: At Richmond, Hannah Koenig had 12 points and 10 rebounds for R-B (11-10, 6-3), and Sam Boettjer added 12 points in a BNC East loss.
Rockford Christian 47, Marengo 38: At Rockford, Jessica Villie led Marengo (7-16, 4-4) with 16 points, and Sabrina Marsh added 13 in a BNC East loss.
Walther Lutheran 64, Marian Central 43: At Melrose Park, Shannon Wuensch led the Hurricanes (12-8, 4-3) with 20 points in a Suburban Christian Conference crossover loss.
Jacobs 86.5, McHenry 83.5: At McHenry, Alex Reinbrecht, Josh DeDina and Francis Ogaban each won a relay and an individual race for the Golden Eagles in their FVC win.
Adam Jensen won the 100-yard freestyle for the Warriors and swam a leg of the winning 200 and 400 free relays.
Faith Lutheran 62, Valeo Academy 38: At Hoffman Estates, Jake Larson scored 17 points to lead the Saints (5-16), with Michael Dykstra adding 12 in the nonconference win.
Marengo 2,763, Woodstock co-op 2,582: At Wayne’s Lanes in Woodstock, Megan Hanelt led the Indians with a 627 series in a nonconference win.
Paige Busch led Woodstock with a 620 series.
