MCC to host free history lectures

CRYSTAL LAKE – Listen to unique perspectives of two historical events in the multimedia presentation “I Have A Dream – 50 Years Later” from 12:30 to 2 p.m. and from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Luecht Conference Center at McHenry County College.

It will be presented by Barry Bradford, a presidential award-winning civil-rights activist. Martin Luther King’s speech “I Have a Dream” is one of the most famous by an American. It was delivered Aug. 28, 1963, and stirred, inspired and challenged a nation.

Bradford, storyteller, historian and author, will delve beyond the famous catchphrase to answer the questions: What did King really say and why did he say it? He will take the audience deep into the events that led to one of America’s most dramatic moments.
