JOHNSBURG – Johnsburg High School students are taking on a classic “whodunnit” murder mystery for their winter play this year.

“Rehearsal for Murder” follows playwright Alex Dennison, portrayed by junior Nick Romero, as he tries to capture the person who killed Monica Wells, his fiancée and an actress who was found dead in an apparent suicide.

What happened to Wells, portrayed by junior Olivia Kasprzyk, won’t be easy for Dennison to discover. All of the suspects – Wells’ fellow actors, the director and the producer in her final Broadway show – have motives and alibis.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Johnsburg High School, 2002 W. Ringwood Road. Doors open 30 minutes before each production.

Tickets can be reserved by calling 815-385-9233. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens.

Johnsburg High School first performed “Rehearsal for Murder” in 1996.
