Our view: Plenty to learn before April election
Newt Gingrich is coming to McHenry County in a couple of weeks to stump for a candidate for McHenry County sheriff.
State media are buzzing about whether Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan will run for governor and, if so, what that will mean for her powerful father, House Speaker Michael Madigan.
The primaries for both of these races aren’t until March 2014, still more than a year away. In the meantime, we have dozens of significant local races that will be decided in April of this year.
