Poor are pawns

To the Editor:

Political partisanship is alive and well in Sun City and Huntley as evidenced by an article that appeared in the Northwest Herald. And the poor of Grafton Township are the pawns in the food pantry political chess game.

Evidently, a resident and committee member in Neighborhood 12 appealed to neighborhood residents for financial contributions to the Grafton Township Food Pantry, a nonprofit organization, to assist the township poor. The dollar amount raised was in excess of $1,000. The contribution was made to the Grafton Township Food Pantry, but was it the correct food pantry?
