New tower in Woodstock to speed Internet service

WOODSTOCK – A new, 120-foot tower behind Stan’s Office Technologies will allow the business to provide a faster and more reliable Internet connection, the company said.

The tower will transmit signals directly to the city’s tower in Emricson Park. Stan’s uses the city’s tower in exchange for providing city departments with free Internet and email service, Planning and Zoning Administrator Jim Kastner said.

The new tower allows the company to shoot a clearer signal between the towers, said Tony Steadman, of Stan’s.
