Freezing rain, snow expected
National Weather Service downgrades its winter storm alert
The National Weather Service downgraded its alert for a winter storm expected to begin tonight from a watch to an advisory.
Freezing rain is possible tonight and later into early Thursday morning before temperatures rise above freezing changing the precipitation to all rain, the Weather Service said.
The storm is expected to bring some light sleet and snow in addition to the freezing rain.
The chance of accumulation early tomorrow morning is slim, but the rain is expected to change to wet snow by late Thursday afternoon or evening.
Snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches is possible.
