Prairie Ridge alumna and U.S. women’s national team defender Amy LePeilbet’s soccer career reached its pinnacle as she helped the U.S. secure a gold medal at the 2012 Olympics in London.

LePeilbet was prepared to play for the Chicago Red Stars in the new National Women’s Soccer League, which begins in May. However, LePeilbet will be sidelined about six to eight months after she underwent surgery Jan. 29 to repair the ACL in her left knee – the same one she tore and had repaired in 2006.
