No. 4 Duke withstands N.C. State’s rally

DURHAM, N.C. – Mason Plumlee scored 30 points and No. 4 Duke held on to beat North Carolina State 98-85 on Thursday night.

Seth Curry added 26 points and Quinn Cook had 21 for the Blue Devils (20-2, 7-2 Atlantic Coast Conference).

They never trailed, shot 53.8 percent from the field, led by 21 points and held off a Wolfpack rally to claim their fourth straight win.

Richard Howell had 15 of his 23 points in the second half for the Wolfpack (16-7, 5-5), who clawed back in it by making 12 of their first 14 shots of the second half.

Texas A&M 70, No. 21 Missouri 68: At College Station, Texas, Fabyon Harris had 17 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 12 seconds left, to help Texas A&M (14-8, 4-5 Southeastern Conference) defeat Missouri (16-6, 5-4).

The loss dropped the Tigers to 0-5 in true road games. They have won three games at neutral sites this season.

Youngstown State 60, Loyola 59: At Youngstown, Ohio, Blake Allen’s 3-pointer with 12 seconds remaining lifted Youngstown State (14-10, 6-5 Horizon League) to a victory over Loyola (13-11, 3-8). Christian Thomas scored 19 points to pace Loyola.

W. Illinois 68, Nebraska-Omaha 50: At Macomb, Terell Parks had 12 points and 16 rebounds and Western Illinois (18-5, 10-2 Summit League) scored the first 20 points of the game en route to a victory over Nebraska-Omaha (8-18, 5-8).

E. Illinois 93, Tenn.-Martin 65: At Martin, Tenn., Morris Woods scored 18 points as Eastern Illinois (7-17, 4-7 Ohio Valley) won its third in its past four, downing Tennessee-Martin (6-17, 3-8).

SE Missouri 76, SIU-Edwardsville 67: At Cape Girardeau, Mo., Nino Johnson had 17 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocked shots, and Southeast Missouri (12-13, 4-7 Ohio Valley) ended a three-game losing streak by beating Southern Illinois-Edwardsville (8-12, 4-6).
