CHICAGO — Investigators are trying to figure out what happened to a Chicago woman who died after falling from an SUV on the Bishop Ford Freeway and being struck by at least one other vehicle.

Authorities say 27-year-old Jennifer Mitchell was pronounced dead on the scene along the highway in the south Chicago suburb of Dolton early Tuesday.

Illinois State Police officials say the SUV kept driving after Mitchell fell out. A trooper later spotted the vehicle and followed it until the SUV crashed near Alsip.
