MCCD to host workshop to monitor frogs

CRYSTAL LAKE – Would you leap at the chance to become a frog monitor?

The McHenry County Conservation District will host a workshop from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 20 at Prairieview Education Center, 2112 Behan Road, Crystal Lake. Attendees will learn frog identification techniques and how to survey the species found on district sites or one’s own wetlands.

The program is for those 18 and older and is sponsored by the conservation district in conjunction with Chicago Wilderness and the Habitat Project. The aim is to gather information about the abundance and distribution of frogs and toads in the region.
