To the Editor:
Can someone explain to me why it is wrong for America to use drones to eradicate people who wish to destroy us. Whether they are Americans or not, it should make no difference.
Terrorists destroyed four airplanes with innocent people aboard, and killed many who were in the Twin Towers, but we are not allowed to retaliate? Whether you like him or not, President Barack Obama is our commander in chief and has to make tough decisions. If he has to wait for Congress to be involved and to give him the OK to do anything, we are in big trouble.
Congress, so far, has shown it is not interested in our welfare, but only to show how important members of Congress think they are, and how they can feather their own nests. Is it wrong for us to get rid of terrorists who wish to destroy our country and, unfortunately, some of their families, rather than lose a thousand or more innocent people and destroy the lives of their families?
Yes, we will make mistakes and some people will be killed who truly are innocent. That, unfortunately, is what happens in a war. If you have seen any of the people on TV who are looking to destroy us, you should understand we are in a war. Instead of waving banners and interrupting meetings, you should say, “Thank you for trying to protect us.”
