Library to end paper overdue notices

ALGONQUIN – Paper overdue notices will be replaced by email or phone notification effective March 18 at the Algonquin Area Public Library District.

Using the library’s automated phone notification system to contact cardholders when items are overdue will save the community money and be more timely for library users, the library district said in a news release.

Notice messages will not contain any item information; they simply will inform cardholders that they have overdue material. Those who receive email notifications will see no change. Cardholders who do not wish to receive phone notices must provide an email address.
