Schaumburg named as Northwest Herald editor

The Northwest Herald announced Wednesday that Jason Schaumburg has been named as editor, effective March 4.

Schaumburg, a former sports editor and managing editor with the Northwest Herald, will replace Dan McCaleb, who is taking on an expanded role with the newspaper's parent company, Shaw Media.

Most recently, Schaumburg was executive editor of Pioneer Press, a group of 32 weekly newspapers and websites spread throughout Chicago's suburbs. Prior to that, he served as editor of the Daily Chronicle in DeKalb from 2009 until March 2012.
