Our view: Let’s exceed voting expectations
Just about everyone expects turnout to be light for the Feb. 26 Consolidated Republican Primary Election.
A handful of township races are the only ones on the ballot. It’s in the middle of winter. There aren’t any high-profile races, such as governor or president of the U.S.
Setting aside the primary, even the Consolidated Municipal Election, which is April 9 this year and will include many more contested races than the primary has, historically has seen low voter turnout.
