Illinois man convicted after key witness killed

URBANA, Ill. (AP) — An Urbana man whose felony trial was delayed after the man he was accused of shooting last year was killed in a second shooting has been convicted of aggravated battery with a firearm.

According to The News-Gazette in Champaign (http://bit.ly/Yb3lYl ), 23-year-old Ardis Fenn faces up to 30 years in prison after being convicted Thursday of shooting Curtis Mosley during a June 12 robbery. Fenn is scheduled to be sentenced next month.

Mosley recovered from those wounds but was shot to death in an Urbana apartment on Feb. 4. Fenn did not show up for the scheduled start of his trial the next day but later turned himself in to police.
