WONDER LAKE – A 27-year-old Wonder Lake man was charged with aggravated battery Monday after he hit another man in the head with a semiautomatic handgun, police said.

Nicholas N. Lagos, of 4120 East Drive, Wonder Lake, pulled out the handgun and hit another man with it after the two argued inside Lagos’ garage, according to a McHenry County Sheriff’s news release.

Sheriff’s police responded to the scene at 7:20 p.m. Monday and found the man with a cut on his head.

Police charged Lagos with aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony, and firearm possession without state-issued registration and aggravated assault, both Class A misdemeanors.

Lagos was taken to the McHenry County Jail, with a bond set at $15,000. He is due in court Thursday.
