Park district looks for ugliest yard
CRYSTAL LAKE – It’s not too late to submit an entry for the Crystal Lake Park District’s Ugliest Yard Contest.
In July 2011, a powerful storm swept through Crystal Lake and brought down a 125-year-old bur oak tree at Main Beach.
The McHenry County Nursery/Glacier Oaks Nursery assist the park district with the harvest and cultivation of 170 acorns from that tree.
