To the Editor:
Spring is in the air, and it’s time to elect the officials who run our local governments. “All politics are local.” So the saying goes – what could be more true? This is the election in which we elect those responsible for our communities, including roads, parks, schools, and community college. These officials also are responsible for spending the bulk of our property taxes.
In Nunda Township, you need to vote twice: the Republican primary on Feb. 26 and the general election on April 9. You may think townships are an extra layer of government, but as long as we have townships, let’s elect qualified individuals to run them.
I’ve studied the issues and met the candidates. There is a clear choice. Please vote on Feb. 26 for Rob Parrish, Nunda highway commissioner; and Mike Shorten, Nunda trustee. For Nunda supervisor, please vote on April 9 for Independent Leda Drain.
