College will offer pair of lawn care classes

CRYSTAL LAKE – McHenry County College’s Continuing Education Department will offer “Surviving the Drought of 2012” on March 5 and “Natural Lawn Care” on March 19.

Both classes will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at the college, 8900 Route 14 in Crystal Lake.

“Surviving the Drought of 2012” examines the approaching 2013 growing season and will provide participants with knowledge on how to get their lawns, trees and shrubs back to normal after sustaining damage from the drought of 2012. Specifics to be covered include renovating lawns, pruning trees and shrubs, fertilizing practices, and managing anticipated weeds, insects, and diseases that threaten landscape plantings. The class will meet in Room C106. The cost is $40. Use course ID: NPG S82 003 to register.
