To the Editor:

Would the Northwest Herald explain in more detail the position it would take on a candidate running for Congress who is cozy with the NRA. Specifically, would the newspaper be approving of Debbie Halvorson, who is interested in the seat being vacated by Jesse Jackson Jr. She was very outspoken in supporting the position of the NRA only a year ago.

Would the newspaper boldly support the majority of the American people when it voices its approval of background checks, banning assault rifles, and other gun issues. Backing the Second Amendment also means “regulation,” as is spelled out clearly in the amendment.
