Lake Barrington man dies in fire
LAKE BARRINGTON – An elderly Lake Barrington man died Tuesday morning in a fire that originated in his unit of a two-story town home, Wauconda Fire District officials said.
The 75-year-old man has been identified as Michael Ostrinsky, according to the Lake County Coroner's Office. Preliminary autopsy results show he may have died of smoke inhalation.
Battalion Chief Kevin Pyne said firefighters arrived at 612 Shoreline Road in Lake Barrington around 8:50 a.m. to smoke billowing out of the four-unit, two-story town home. Bystanders told the firefighters that Ostrinsky was still trapped inside his first-floor unit, Pyne said.
