Spring Grove woman pleads guilty to theft

Note: This story has been corrected.

WOODSTOCK – Charges related to accusations that a Spring Grove woman stole from her elderly mother have been dropped, although she pleaded guilty Wednesday to a misdemeanor count of theft.

Eydie Abernathy, 44, was given credit for 120 days served in the McHenry County Jail and sentenced to an additional 60 days. However, the remainder was stayed, meaning that she will not have to serve the time if she successfully completes the terms of her two years of probation.
