LITH man charged in child porn case

LAKE IN THE HILLS – A Lake in the Hills man turned himself into authorities after being indicted Wednesday on child pornography charges.

Robert Krusee, 70, of the 900 block of Windstone Court, was charged with two counts each of aggravated child pornography and possession of child pornography.

A search of Krusee’s home found computer files containing thousands of pictures and videos depicting child pornography, authorities said.

Aggravated child pornography is a Class X felony, punishable by six to 30 years in prison. Possession of child pornography is a Class 2 felony, punishable by three to seven years.

The Lake in the Hills Police Department worked with the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and the Attorney General’s Office on the arrest, which was part of Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s Operation Glass House. The operation tracks child pornographers online using the unique identifier that each computer is assigned when it accesses the Internet, known as the Internet protocol, or IP, address.

Krusee was being held Thursday at McHenry County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bond.
