Winter weather advisory canceled
The National Weather Service has canceled a winter weather advisory scheduled to expire at 6 p.m. for much of the Chicago area.
A chance of light snow and drizzle is possible this afternoon, according to the weather service. Between 3 and 4 inches of snow fell throughout the county overnight. Snow continued to fall this morning, tapering off around 1 p.m.
County crews started work 10 p.m. Thursday night.
