LAKE IN THE HILLS – Marlowe Middle School will perform the Broadway classic “Annie Jr.” at 7 p.m. March 15 and at 3 and 7 p.m. March 16 in the Performing Arts Center at Huntley High School,13719 Harmony Road, Huntley.

Taking place in the 1930s in New York City, “Annie Jr.” tells the story of a little orphan named Annie who, unlike the other children at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage, believes that her parents are still alive and will one day return to claim her.

So when billionaire Oliver Warbucks offers to adopt her, she asks the powerful man to help find her real mom and dad instead, and he agrees. Warbucks’ huge reward for Annie’s parents attracts several con artists, including Rooster, Lily and the wicked Miss Hannigan, who hatch a plot to kidnap Annie and take the $50,000 reward.
