Time for change

To the Editor:

My vote is for Mary Mahady, McHenry Township assessor. I have been an active, lifetime resident of McHenry. I met Mary playing softball and noticed her commitment, determination and education of the game. I also know Mary off the field, and she puts passion and dedication into everything she’s strives to accomplish. She is running for township assessor in April and will get my vote.

As a taxpayer, I tried to refute my assessment once with the current assessor, and the negative experience will be etched in my mind forever.

Finally, we have an opportunity to change. Mary Mahady is committed to equal, fair assessments and improved customer service. I think it is clearly time for a change in the community.

The office of assessor should provide customer service no matter what party affiliation he or she may have. I know I vote for the person, not the party.
