KILDEER – Natural and organic food retailer Whole Foods Market will open a 40,000-square-foot store in Kildeer Wednesday.
The new store, 20281 N. Rand Road, is relocating from a Palatine location.
“At Whole Foods Market, we’re proud to offer the freshest, most flavorful natural and organic foods, and we are thrilled to open such a grand location for our community,” said store manager Floyd Staine in a press release. “Our guests are the most important stakeholders and the life blood for our Kildeer store.”
The store is designed to feel like a gathering of “boutiques within a store,” Staine said. All products are free of artificial colors, flavors, preservatives and trans fats. The store combines prepared foods with one-stop grocery shopping.
The store features salad and hot bars; panini, pizza and taco venues; and Health Starts Here Program, which provides tools and education to help shoppers make healthier choices.
There are more than 200 varieties of seasonal, organic and local produce, with a variety of hard-to-find items; more than 200 varieties of natural, organic and local cheeses; more than 50 varieties of fresh seafood and shellfish, all harvested using sustainable practices; a large variety of choice custom-cut meats, including dry-aged beef; freshly baked artisan breads, cookies, pastries, muffins and other treats; and a large selection of vegetarian and vegan choices.
Essential grocery staples include Whole Foods Market’s own 365 Everyday Value signature line of products.
Whole Foods Market, which created nearly 100 additional jobs in Kildeer, has been named by Fortune magazine as one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For” in America for 15 consecutive years – every year since the List’s inception.
“Our success depends on the collective energy and excellence of all our team members and we are thrilled to be a part of the Kildeer community,” Staine said.
The Kildeer store joins more than 325 other Whole Foods Market stores in North America and the United Kingdom.
