Chicago works to keep iconic roadway safe in snow
CHICAGO (AP) — Officials in Chicago are working to keep Lake Shore Drive safe as a snowstorm bears down.
Chicago could get up to 10 inches of snow Tuesday. Officials are trying to avoid a repeat of scenes from two years ago, when a blizzard stranded hundreds of people on the world-famous road.
Among the new procedures, officials have opened a removable barrier in the median of the four-lane roadway running along the Lake Michigan shorefront.
