Spaghetti dinner Sunday to benefit ill CL man

CRYSTAL LAKE – A spaghetti dinner benefit Sunday will help raise funds for a Crystal Lake man diagnosed with a rare disease.

Chris Becker was diagnosed with Adult Still’s disease, a rare inflammatory condition that may lead to chronic arthritis and other complications, and for which there is no cure.

Becker also has a slew of other health problems, including chronic pain and fatigue, stomach issues, anxiety and depression.

Because of these health problems, he cannot work, said his wife, MaryAnn Becker. The couple has a 7-year-old son.

The fundraiser will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at Immanuel Lutheran School, 300 S. Pathway Court, Crystal Lake. The dinner is free, but the church is asking for free-will donations.

The fundraiser will support the Beckers’ medical bills, home bills and food and gas.
