I get it, I really do. Knowing it’s yours. The power it gives you. The feel of it in your hand. The beauty of the weapon.
You need not fear anyone. And if our state Legislature only would allow you to pack your favorite killing weapon, you know you would be safer from danger.
Of course, if the Legislature did give you permission to pack, there would be some problems. You couldn’t carry your weapon to a courthouse. There isn’t a judge in the U.S. who would permit you to carry a weapon in his court. Or the state (and federal legislatures, or a passenger airplane, or a school, or many others or’s. So you wouldn’t be able to venture into the world in complete safety.
One more thing. I have been told that about half of all gunshot victims in the U.S. are shot by people they know. If everybody packs, are we safe?

When I think McHenry, I think Jeff Schaefer. Schaefer holds many titles: son, husband, father, uncle, but when I think of his title, it is friend. That’s why I endorse him for 3rd Ward alderman in McHenry.
Schaefer is personable and cares. His involvement in his church, school and kids’ activities is second to none. You often will see Schaefer at a sporting, community or school event, or even just walking down the streets of McHenry talking to people or discussing their issues. His presence in the community is noticeable, and he cares.
Not only is he a McHenry native, but he has the experience and knowledge it takes to continue taking McHenry down its path to success.
Schaefer does his research on issues. He has taken the time during these tough economic times to watch spending and make good choices when it comes to being responsible for your tax dollars so that McHenry continues to thrive.
