Konerko hits 2 HRs, White Sox beat Cubs

MESA, Ariz. – Paul Konerko hit two home runs in a spring training game Thursday and Adam Dunn added a two-run shot as the White Sox beat the Cubs, 8-3.

Dunn and Konerko hit consecutive homers in the sixth inning. They also added singles, and Gordon Beckham had an RBI double.

Sox starter Jose Quintana allowed one earned run and two hits in 3 2/3 innings. He struck out four and walked one.

Sox reliever Leyson Septimo left with two outs and a 2-2 count in the ninth inning. It was not immediately known what caused him to exit.

Nate Schierholtz hit an RBI triple for the Cubs, and minor leaguer Christian Villanueva hit a two-run homer.
