Huntley Historical Society helps library digitize local history

Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

The Huntley Historical Society recently donated to the Huntley Library multiple DVDs of recordings from long-time residents detailing local history.

The seven DVDs were given to the library's local history department, which has started digitizing the library's collection of local historical artifacts, documents, obituaries, photos and family histories.

The oral histories were produced by historical society members. Members interviewed multiple residents, while a video camera recorded each moment.

Library's effort to digitize its history collection will eventually be entirely accessible online. To learn more about the effort, visit the library's local history website at lh.huntleylibrary.info.

For more information about the library's local history department, contact Pamela Kampwerth, (847) 669-5386 ext. 28.
