St. Margaret Mary to host Shamrock Shave
ALGONQUIN – Introduced five years ago with low expectations, the Shamrock Shave benefit has grown to become a major area fundraising event at St. Margaret Mary Parish in Algonquin.
On Saturday, organizers estimate that more than 50 men, women and children will shave their heads to raise money for community families in need and for cancer research.
This year’s Shamrock Shave will combine food, entertainment, and head shaving in an effort to raise money for two causes. All of the event’s proceeds and pledges will be donated to the St. Vincent DePaul Society to support community families in need and to Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
