Chamber leading charge for St. Baldrick’s
Time for all McHenry guys to rise up and take action. After all, we like a little competition, don’t we?
The McHenry Community Shave for St. Baldrick’s will be at 5 p.m. Thursday in the main gym at McHenry High School West Campus, 4724 W. Crystal Lake Road, McHenry.
Last year, McHenry was No. 8 in shavees in the world. We were a bit behind three Irish pubs. Now, McHenry ought to be able to beat three Irish pubs! Come on guys! Most of you don’t have much hair, anyway. Besides, bald is in. Shave it off and it will grow back in less than two months. Bring McHenry to No. 1 in the world.
Hey, all you chamber referral groups, committees, and development teams, the chamber has a great offer for you! Fearless chamber board member Wayne Seely is leading the chamber charge for St. Baldrick’s. He is donating his full head of hair with lovely locks. He is joined by other chamber members, but not enough. That is why we are calling on you folks.
Should any referral group, chamber committee, young professionals group or SOHO bring in the most shavees (percentage of group size) the chamber will donate $500 toward St. Baldrick’s on your behalf. The winning group must have at least four participants to win. In addition, the chamber will send a press release about winners to the media and include them in the chamber newsletter. Can’t lose. Contact Wayne today at email@example.com. Hair does grow back. You have my word.
At this point, we’re just a couple days away from the community shave on Thursday. McHenry has more than 400 shavees. This brings us to No. 4 internationally. Way to go, McHenry! Beat those Irish pubs! St. Baldrick’s supports research toward eradicating pediatric cancer.
