Shelbyville decides to demolish 1903 building

SHELBYVILLE – A century-old landmark in eastern Illinois appears to be headed for demolition.

According to WAND-TV in Decatur, the City Council in Shelbyville voted this week to tear down the Shelbyville Chautauqua.

The circular auditorium sits in Forest Park in the small town and was built in 1903. Shelbyville is about 35 miles south of Decatur.
